This master-planned community follows a plan both vibrant and clever, capitalizing on the area’s proposed crosstown LRT. Crosstown, a 60-acre redevelopment at Eglinton Avenue East and Don Mills Road, is an ambitious project that will eventually include residential and commercial space, as well as extensive parkland, pedestrian walkways and a recreation centre.

Crosstown is set to transform a swath of land at 844 Don Mills Road. Aspen Ridge Homes is handling the project, which aims to create a dynamic, mixed-use intensification for the largely underutilized property.

In total, the development will add 4,921 residential units, comprising a mix of high-rise condominiums and urban townhomes. Over 60-million square feet of office space and 120,000-square feet of retail space will be added. The community’s proposal also calls for a state-of-the-art recreation centre, which will be located across from a 6-acre public park and house a hockey arena, indoor basketball courts and an indoor swimming pool. Designed with pedestrians in mind, a walkable main street will run through the community, featuring a central plaza, outdoor patio seating and a selection of boutique shops.

The Wynford-Concorde neighbourhood is a great location for Crosstown master-planned community.
